New Zealand Racing -The Great Annual British Seagull Race
The Great Annual British Seagull Race is held every Easter in
New Zealand. The event is held over two days and it boasts to
be the Longest Seagull Race in the World.
The race down the Waikato
River starts at Karapio Dam and finishes in
Port Waikato, over 150 km away. The main emphasis on
the event is having lots of fun and New Zealand celebrities
have taken part in the past.
The race includes a Dinghy Class,
a Modified Class and a Open Class.
Last year Ross Leger achieved
1st place and new record time in the New Zealand open class 2003
and 1st place in the Modified Class 2002.
Lake Rotorangi Race
The Lake Rotorangi Race is located on the a hydro lake on the
Patea River in Taranaki. This year it is in September.
